The Fund has created scholarships for students enrolled in the European Microfinance Programme (EMP), launched in 2005-2006 by SBS-EM in collaboration with the Université Paris-Dauphine (France), Wageningen University (the Netherlands), and NGO PlaNet Finance. The programme includes a mandatory internship in a developed country, for which this scholarship is intended.

The total amount is €2,000 and can be distributed between 2 or more students, depending on applications received and students’ needs. The situation of each applicant will be evaluated based on objective factors and on a letter in which the student explains their motivations.

To be eligible, applicants must:
  • be enrolled in the European Microfinance Programme at SBS-EM
  • complete their internship during the academic year in which they apply for the scholarship
Scholarships are awarded by the person in charge of the European Microfinance Programme, based on the applicants’ socio-economic situation and the cost of living in the country where they the internship will take place (travel expenses are included).

The applicants remain anonymous and their names are not published.
