The Solvay Brussels School celebrates its 120th years!
It’s in 1903 that Ernest Solvay created his business school within the Free University of Brussels (ULB), still then in the park Leopold II. It follows the creation of the sociology institute the previous year, and the physiology one in 1895.
Its goal? To educate women and men to become true leaders and entrepreneurs in their field, going through a rigorous emphasis on quantitative methods, science and management.
Still under the auspice of its founder, the school will wonder in 2023: who is the Ernest Solvay of the XXIe century? In front of the climate and social crisis, and facing a world always more globalized and digitalises, what would have been Ernest Solvay? Founder of a start-up or captain of industry? Philanthropist or activist? On the forefront of social battles or militing for the climate?
This is what we’ll try to discover between the lines of this year of celebration!
You will find here a calendar sharing all the events of the year, but do feel free to keep an eye on our newsletter to be aware of the latest updates.
